Waterways by Philip Noakes

This sculpture commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the City of Stirling.

Waterways consists of a pair of silver discs soldered together, mounted on a black granite plinth. The striking sculpture references the bodies of water that have shaped the development of the City of Stirling - a network of beaches, wetlands, lakes and swamps central to the community and home to much of the City’s unique wildlife.

The artist was inspired by the reflection of water and designed the discs to replicate the movement of waves or falling water.

The plaque beneath the discs maps the significant bodies of water found in the City.
