It was given and granted to Thomas Hunt by the Governor of the Colony, John Hutt Esquire, on the 28th June 1842 in the reign of Queen Victoria.

Thomas Hunt, born 1800, arrived in the Colony of Western Australia on the 20th February 1830 aboard the Protector from Hampstead, England.
