Justin Langer joined Scarborough Cricket Club in 1982 and played juniors for the under 13's Inverarity Shield side and has been associated with the club for 40 years. The club states 'Langer had maintained a proud and loyal connection to Scarborough Cricket Club with his ongoing contributions having a significant and direct influence on the development and growth of cricket in the broader community.' These contributions include providing leadership, mentoring and coaching for players of all ages and seniority, as well as donating playing and fundraising equipment, attending and speaking at events and serving as club captain for a large part of his career. A ground at the club, the Justin Langer Oval, is named in his honour.
