Thomas & George Webb previously worked in Swanston Street, Melbourne, running their Webb & Webb studio there since January 1888. After nearly a decade they moved interstate, setting up a studio at 101 High St, Fremantle in December 1897. This studio ran until April 1901 when it was taken over by Mr’s Bayley & Craig, as the Adelphi Studio. Webb & Webb opened a 2nd studio at 374 Hay Street, next to Bon Marche, in April 1900, a year before they closed the Fremantle studio.
Around November 1907, the studio changed its address to 616 Hay Street and they stayed here until 1953. Webb & Webb also held regional pop-up studios in Katanning (Apr-Oct 1909) and Wagin (Oct – Dec 1909). There is evidence that Webb & Webb also regionally toured at other times without advertisement, including Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie and Busselton in 1908.
