Balcatta Primary School opened in 1964 with Mr Hunt as Principal and almost 300 students enrolled for its first year. The school grew rapidly and catered to approximately 2000 students by 1970.
In 2020, Balcatta Primary School became an Independent Public School.
Mr Peter Gates has been the Principal of Balcatta Primary School since 1997.
