Brenda Morton was employed by the Education Department for 37 years, spending 20 years teaching at Wembley Downs Primary School until 2001.
Bournemount Bushey Reserve was renamed Brenda Morton Reserve in 2001 to commemorate her profound influence on the lives of many students during her teaching career. As well as being an outstanding classroom practitioner, her interest in the arts and in particular music, provided an avenue for young lives to be exposed to these cultural aspects. The production of an annual musical to showcase the talents of her students was noted as a highlight of the school year.
