Herdsman Lake

Herdsman Lake is a freshwater lake located on the Swan Coastal plain just north of Perth City. The lake is part of the Herdsman Lake Regional Park. It was referred to as the Great Lake during the early Swan River colony. The water supply was used for agricultural purposes, cattle grazing and market gardens. Various drainage projects and development occurred over the years, before a preservation scheme for parks and recreation purposes was implemented.

The aboriginal name for the lake is Ngurgenboro which was once the name of the Suburb of Innaloo before the name was changed.
