The park is named after John and Amy Macaulay who lived on Ninth Avenue in Inglewood. They were residents of the City of Stirling for over 48 years, moving into Inglewood in 1936. Amy Macaulay went on to become the Secretary of the Ratepayers Association. When John Macaulay married Amy Frith in 1935 his parents already lived in Inglewood. In 1984 an oral history interview was conducted with Mrs Amy Macaulay.
