Peter Leslie Rose

After migrating from the UK to Trigg in 1962, Mr Rose lived there until moving to Hamersley in 1998. With 44 years of residence within the City of Stirling, he considers serving its residents his greatest influence as a Councillor.

Mr Rose served as a Councillor for the Hamersley Ward of the City of Stirling during three separate terms: 1974-1983, 1993-1997, and 1999-2011. He also held the position of Deputy Mayor from 1996-1997 and again from 2007-2009.

Throughout his tenure, Councillor Rose has been an active member of numerous advisory committees coordinated by the city, including the W K Moir Management Committee, the Hamersley Community Recreation Advisory Committee, the Stirling Ethnic Aged Homes Board, and the Carine, Karrinyup/Lake Gwelup Reserve Advisory Committees.

Councillor Rose chaired the inaugural PR Committee, now known as the House Committee, and has also led the Policy, Corporate Planning, Budget, and Finance Committees. Additionally, Councillor Rose served on the WALGA Northern Council Committee from 1977 to 1983 and represented WALGA on the Caravan Parks and Camping Committees from 2001 to 2004. He continues to serve as a WALGA Representative on the West Australian Childcare Advisory Committee.

Councillor Rose’s unwavering commitment to the community and his invaluable contributions have earned him the prestigious Life Membership Award.
