James Henry Satchell

Mr. James Satchell served as a Defence Service Inspector before being elected as a councillor with the City of Stirling in 1979. He continued to serve the City until 1991, during which time he was the Deputy Mayor from 1989 to 1990 and the Mayor from 1990 to 1991.

He has been an active member of various committees, community sports, and open space initiatives in the Inglewood Ward he represented. He supported the formation of the North Dianella Youth Club in 1972 and was a founding member of the Dianella Community Recreation Advisory Committee in 1975.

Councillor Satchell played a major role in the City of Stirling's efforts to raise funds to build a community centre for Dianella residents. In 1994, in recognition of Councillor Satchell's community spirit, the City of Stirling renamed the centre in his honour.
