Mr Clifford Arthur Burgess-Lloyd was born in 1889 in Camberwell, Victoria. In 1913, he joined the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as a senior officer, and he served his country during the First World War.
Mr Burgess-Lloyd married Winifred Annie Stringer in 1914 in Perth, Western Australia. Tragically, both Winifred and their baby daughter passed away in 1915. In 1920, he married Ailsa Charlotte Logan Morrison, and they had three children together.
Mr Burgess-Lloyd served as a member of the Perth Road Board from 1935 to 1941 for the Hamersley Ward. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he regularly raced at the Claremont Speedway. A merchant and pastoralist in civil life, he later became an agent for importing premier motorcycles in Western Australia, introducing the Harley-Davidson motorcycle to the region.
