Mr John Orr was born in 1869 in Sale, Victoria. In 1898, he married Mary Theresa Hall Jackson in Perth, Western Australia, and together they had two children.
Mr Orr worked as a carpenter and was actively engaged in the building trade for several years. He was also deeply involved in Western Australia's sporting arenas and became a prominent figure in local government. Notably, he served as a member and past president of the Australasian Institute of Cost Accountants.
From 1935 to 1937, Mr. Orr was elected to the Perth Road Board, and he was appointed chairman of the board in 1936 and 1937.
He passed away in 1938 in Perth, Western Australia, at the age of 69.
