Mr William Charles Dale was born on 6 April 1836 in Kent, England. On 7 December 1858, he married Elizabeth Burfoot, and together they had 11 children over 22 years.
The family moved from Fremantle to Bunbury when he accepted the role of Police Constable and Emigrant Officer, serving from 1861 to 1865. From 1865 to 1869, he worked as a Police Sergeant and local Bailiff in Perth. By 1873, Mr. Dale was in charge of the Poorhouse, where he was known as a sympathetic officer despite having limited facilities. He was elected to the Perth Road Board, serving from 1875 to 1878. Additionally, he was a member of the Perth Horticultural Society and a prominent Freemason.
William Charles Dale passed away on 15 March 1897 in Perth, Western Australia, at the age of 60.
