Mary-Ann Devereux is a professional artist with a background in technical drafting. Since completing an Art & Design course at Carine Tafe, she has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Perth, as well being a longterm resident artist at the well-known restaurant, Clarke's of North Beach. She runs art workshops from her studio in North Beach and also teaches art for people with disabilities.
Mary-Ann works in acrylic, using moulding paste and collage of handmade papers to give texture and a tactile quality, a liberating process after her drafting background.
She strives to create ‘feeling’ in her paintings, looking beyond the subject matter, and using texture and light to portray the beauty, softness and strength in everyday scenes.
