In 1939 Edward Bransby was listed on the electoral roll as a market gardener, residing in Maley Road, Balkatta. His wife, Ellen was recorded as residing at the same address, performing home duties. Harold Arthur Bransby and Clarence Robert Bransby lived with them at the time.
The Bransby family ran a general store on Malcolm Street in North Beach.
