ContributorCommunity HistoryDescriptionIan Lugg contributed this story to the Chronicle Scarborough project:
The image in this story is a small artwork created especially for us by our Canadian friend Audrey, capturing highlights of her first brief visit to Australia a few years ago. That’s her on a body board in the surf. Audrey is an adventurer who wanted to experience the surf at Scarborough beach despite not being a strong swimmer. For me, the amusing highlight of that adventure was the unexpectedly wide response to my urgent call to dive. Audrey’s amusing highlight came later. As we left the beach, a streaker ran past with a ranger in hot pursuit. Audrey grinned, and commented “he has nothing to be ashamed of”. Needless to say, the streaker appears in her artwork.
