ContributorCommunity HistoryDescriptionLaurie's Playground is a digital story by Laurie Evans, for Chronicle Scarborough:
I grew up living in the back of two different shops owned by my parents on The Esplanade, Scarborough, in the early 1950s. I remember my early thrifty tenancies encouraged by my Father such as finding lost coins along the beach, or fallen out of peoples pockets in Luna Park, or collecting bottles from beach goers.
I remember well the Scarborough Hotel, Mini Golf, Luna Park, and when there was only one or two places to get a sit down meal. Importantly, what will always remain is the beautiful white sand and the surf.TypeStirling StoriesCollectionChronicle ScarboroughCoastal collectionDate created2012Duration3 minutes
