City of Stirling Lakes by Annette Allman

"City of Stirling Lakes was inspired by the changes taking place in Perth at the time, with ever increasing numbers of larger houses with smaller backyards and the need for public parks and lakes to nurture the residents. I had been a private pilot, and this experience influenced my artwork, where I merged an aerial and pedestrian point of view.  I also used to love walking around the lakes with my young children looking for leprechauns under the metal reticulation and pump structures.  It was a way of encouraging my children to explore and enjoy the parks and lakes." - artist Annette Allman
