For anyone who takes on the waves there is comfort in knowing that the watchful eye of the coastguard is playing its vital role in saving lives. Increasingly we are relying on our devices and often miss the realities of life. This artwork showcases the design qualities of the Scarborough Surf Club and its relevant location for visual patrols over the coastal area of Scarborough. It is a popular area well patronised by members and the public in its campaign to keep beachgoers safe. The inclusion of the figure walking across the rough bituminized area in the foreground adds another element to the composition.
