The work uses symbolism to reference the environmental peril facing us through our insatiable extraction of resources. The shape of the work implies time it's duality It's infinite nature on a universal scale infinity (horizontal) It's limited and measured nature at a human scale hourglass (vertical) Gold is an allegory for value and our extraction of resources. The gold wattle branches remind us the true value lies in nature The central geometry is the planetary symbol for Earth. Our actions are endangering the natural world we are a part of. Nature in some form will endure it is us who face danger. Unless we choose to work with nature better. Artist Statement: Of late I have found myself fighting for the forest against mining exploitation and greed. I have become part of a group of forest dwellers who want to protect what remains. Who want to show the true value of this place and it's vital importance to the world we see coming.
