William Henry Drake

W.H Drake arrived in the Swan River Colony on the 28th December 1831 on the Egyptian. He obtained the Swan U Location Crown Grant in 1842, from Robert Thomson.

Drake was born in Portugal at Coimbra during the Peninsular War. He was Colonial Treasurer of Western Australia from 1838 to 1848. He was then appointed Assistant Commissary-General in 1845, and four years later advanced to the post of Commissary General.
