Galup

Lake Monger fell within the boundaries of the City of Stirling until 1994 when it became part of the Town of Cambridge. 

The decision was made on 28 August 2024, to change the name of Lake Monger to Galup (Lake Monger).

John Henry Monger took out a land grant on an area adjacent to the lake on which he ran a saw mill. The lake was later named after him.

An original Crown Grant of 367.5 acres called Location Aq Perthshire was granted to Thomas Helms by the Governor of the Colony, Sir James Stirling, on the 31st August 1837. Location Aq was situated between Herdsman Lake and Lake Monger.
