Stirling Coastcare (2004) reformed to Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare (SNEC) in 2009. Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare is a group of volunteers working to rehabilitate the coastline from Peasholm Dog Beach (in Scarborough) to Watermans Bay in the Perth metropolitan area. The areas of interest extends across City of Stirling's 6.5 km stretch of coastal foreshore.
The enthusiasm of Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare is well recognised within the community. Strong partnerships have been established with the City of Stirling, Woodside, Conservation Volunteers Australia, RecFishWest, local school groups and universities. Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare are involved in a variety of activities with the aim of protecting and restoring the natural coastal environment. Enthusiastic and willing volunteers have a desire and passion to conserve, protect and promote natural resource management within the City of Stirling's coastal reserves.
Description
Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare is an incorporated group, made up of local community members wanting to participate in regular environmental activities. Coastcare volunteers provide an important resource to the City of Stirling and are achieving improved environmental outcomes. They contribute to on-ground works and regularly spend significant amounts of time each week working towards environmental goals.
