Abbett Park Reserve

Named after William Walter Abbett, the reserve was developed in the early 1960s. A new tennis pavilion for use by the Scarborough District Sportsmen's Club (now Scarborough Sports and Community Club) was officially opened within the reserve in November 1964.

The site had previously been included within the 16 hectares purchased by carpenter Jesse Golding in 1869.

In the early 1900s the site was home to Mrs Smith, who ran a modest dairy from the location with two or three cows.

Description

Abbett Park Reserve is located on Deanmore Road in Scarborough, this park is popular with families and dog lovers as it has plenty of car parking.
