The reserve is named after Herb Elliott, a renowned athlete from Scarborough.

A newspaper article dated 28 November 1962 recounts a civic reception hosted by Perth Shire President H.R. Robinson in Mr Elliott's honour, attended by more than 100 people, where the new park and its name were announced.

Description

Herb Elliott Reserve is located at 20 Rinaldi Crescent in Karrinyup and is also bounded by Elliott and Jeanes Roads. It is 4.6 hectares in size.
