Herdsman Lake Regional Park is also known as Noogenboro (Nookenburra, Njookenbooroo) and connects to Whadjuk Noongar culture. It is a wetland that provides a biodiverse ecosystem for many water and migratory birds. The Herdsman Lake Settlers Cottage is heritage listed, connecting to settler culture of the early 1800s.

Herdsman Lake is located at 151 Jon Sanders Drive, Herdsman. The Herdsman Lake Discover Centre is an attraction and provides exhibits and activities focused on the area. Extensive walking and cycling tracks circle the park.
