Luna Park opened in Scarborough on 26 November 1939. At this time it was managed by Mr A L Green, and some of the attractions included midget cars, flying boats, a 'gee whizz' ride, shooting and archery galleries. It also had an excellent dance floor. It remained a popular weekend destination for several decades, but eventually closed and was demolished in the early 1970's. It was located at the corner of West Coast Highway and Scarborough Beach Road, now the site of the Luna Park Shopping Centre.
