Tyrown Waigana is a Wardandi Nyoongar (Aboriginal) and Ait Koedal (Torres Strait Islander) multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer whose practice includes painting, illustration, sculpture, animation and graphic design. His work often explores themes of identity, feelings, politics and art history. Tyrown also explores visual storytelling through his illustration and animation brand, Crawlin Crocodile. In 2020, Tyrown won the National NAIDOC poster competition and was named the 2020 NAIDOC artist of the year. His artwork has been featured at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Fremantle Art Centre and John Curtin Gallery.
