Scarborough Beachfront shops 1945. Perron Brothers (Stan and Keith) 'Silver Grill' Milk Bar and Hamburgers purchased in late 1945 (sold 1947). These buildings were demolished (1980s) for the Observation City complex. The old house on the left was demolished later to make way for 'Peters by the Sea' which still exists.
Stan Perron is one of the most respected, successful and wealthiest business men in Western Australia. Stan and his wife, Jean, are generous philanthropists. Perron Bros Pty Ltd (est. 1947) became the biggest earthmoving business in WA and eventually sold to Thiess Brothers in 1961. From the Thiess Brothers deal, Stan was appointed sole WA distributor of Toyota commercial and passenger vehicles (Thiess had the Australian Toyota franchise).
In 1959, Stan acquired 15 per cent interest in any iron ore ventures instituted by Hancock and Wright. This deal brings in millions of dollars in royalties annually. The Perron Group owns many large shopping centres and building complexes Australia-wide.
