David Boothman Freeman of the City of Stirling Conferred 20 February 2023 by Daevid Anderson

The title of Honorary Freeman of the City is bestowed on any former Elected Member whose activities have substantially improved the quality of life of the City's residents in order to recognise the exceptional and meritorious services provided to the City. In February 2023 former Mayor and Councillor David Boothman JP was bestowed this title making him the 10th Honorary Freeman for the City of Stirling. Born on 30 January 1951 David Boothman JP served as Councillor (1994-2021) Mayor (2007-2013) Deputy Mayor (2000-2001) and Chair to various Council committees. During his 27 years on Council David was instrumental in community safety initiatives including forming the Crime Prevention Partnership Agreement and Safer Suburb Plan. He was awarded life membership of WALGA receiving the Long and Loyal Service Award and the Distinguished Service Award. David also made a significant contribution to the lives of our community through his work as a Police Officer.
