ContributorCommunity HistoryDescriptionHampstead was built around 1907 to 1908 in a Federation architectural style. It was used as a rest and convalescent home during the tumultuous years of World War 1, from 1914 to 1917. Nurse Bevan then named it Kialla Private Hospital and ran it until 1920. Perth College's Sisters then used it as a hostel, around 1922. Perth College later used it as their Intermediate School. The creation of ten new bronze plaques, installed in March 2025, highlights the heritage value of Beaufort Street. These plaques identify Mount Lawley as a cultural landscape of significant buildings, designed in a unique style.
