This site was once occupied by the Odin Drive-In Cinema. It was advertised as “The happy event of the Happy New Year” when it opened on 31 December 1964. A café andplayground provided enjoyment and relaxation for patrons. With 677 car bays, it was a busy place on a warm summer’s evening. It provided entertainment for both adults and children until it closed its gates for the last time in July 1988. After its closure, demolition commenced, and the land was sold as a housing estate.”
