ContributorCommunity HistoryDescriptionThe Karrinyup Library opened on Thursday 19th September 1974 and is considered an iconic example of Perth's brutalist architecture. It was designed during a time when Western Australia was adopting "a more modern identity, characterized by functional yet beautifully composed and balanced public buildings" according to the Art Gallery of WA curator Robert Cook.
