Since 1947, Australia has issued one million permanent humanitarian visas – welcoming people from all parts of the globe, people who have helped to build modern Australia (Refugee Week).

The City of Stirling is highly diverse, with residents representing at least 128 countries of birth and speaking over 100 languages at home (ABS Census 2021).

From survival to new beginnings, these stories weave together the fabric of our community in the City of Stirling.

This is the beginning of a collection to celebrate the resilience of refugees who made the City of Stirling home.
