ContributorCommunity HistoryDescriptionThe Lyceum Theatre, now known as the Astor Theatre, is located on the corner of Beaufort and Walcott Streets. It was designed in the Federation Free Classical Style by David McClure and built in 1914–15 by Simon Bremner Alexander. The creation of ten new bronze plaques, installed in March 2025, highlights the heritage value of Beaufort Street. These plaques identify Mount Lawley as a cultural landscape of significant buildings, designed in a unique style.
