Laurie Strutt Reserve

On the 22 December 1919, Lot 202 was transferred to the Perth Road Board where a water supply reservoir was built. This reservoir became known as the Mount Flora Reserve. The water tank later was decommissioned from service in the 1970's. In 1988, the water tank was converted into a museum. The area next to the water tank was developed and made into a local reserve which is now known as the Laurie Strutt Reserve.

There are several heritage plaques located at the site, the Mount Flora Regional Museum heritage plaque (2016) World War II commemorative plaque, a North Suburban Historical Society commemorative plaque (2006) and a Mount Flora Regional Museum opening commemorative plaque (1988) 

Laurie Strutt reserve is located at 30 Elvire Street, Watermans Bay WA, alongside the Mount Flora Regional Museum. Laurie Strutt was a long time resident of the North Beach district from the 1950's, actively involved in many of the district's youth clubs and programmes, particularly with the YMCA. Mr Strutt was also instrumental in the development of the Mount Flora Reserve. There was once a small pine bench seat located near the top car park where Mr Strutt spent time enjoying the view. The name was approved on the 22 July 1980 and gazetted on 15 August 1980. 

Mount Flora Regional Museum is located in a concrete water tank built in the early 1940's. There are stairs on the side of the museum that allow access to the top of the tank for panoramic views of the area. The reserve has an elevation of 27 metres. A playground is located on site and an extra grass car park area. Picnic shelter and bench seat is also located on site.
