Topics discussed include Hayden's experience in primary schools in the Scarborough area and in the first year group enrolled into Scarborough Senior High School (SSHS). They also discuss the community opposition to the demolition of SSHS.

Janet recalls growing up in and developing a nursing career in Wyndham. She also mentions the progressive nature of King Edward Memorial Hospital, who were one of the first Perth employers to provide a creche that made it possible for single parents to work.

They discuss buying their first home in Woodlands, and later moving to Koolan Island. Dr Elderfield discusses opening a general medical practice in Woodlands in the late 1970s.

They recall their children attending Woodlands Primary School and the establishment of the Woodlands Brownie group. They discuss the shops available in Woodlands and some of the characters of the area and patients of the general practice.

They discuss visiting Scarborough Beach, as part of the Polar Bears and the Barehanded Shark Catchers and also to dance at the Snake Pit. The also recall the Scarborough Hotel, Peters By The Sea, the surf club and beach shelters and Luna Park.
